Unveiling Winston-Salem’s Second-Hand Shopping Scene: A Guide to Thrifting in the City

From trendy boutiques to hidden gems tucked away in historic neighborhoods, these are our favorite Winston-Salem area consignment shops for those who enjoy the hunt.

The Snob Shop

1020 Burke St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101

The Snob Shop is known for its collection of women’s designer clothing labels, furniture, dishware, and home decor. This secondhand store on Burke Street carefully curates its selection to offer timeless vintage pieces in excellent condition, current styles, and high-quality items. They authenticate designer goods so you can be sure you’ve purchased a genuine designer item.

I scored big at The Snob Shop when I found hard-to-find ceramic Old Salem replica houses to add to my Christmas Village collection. I got the set for about 20% of their total value.

Collage

434 W End Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC 27101

Located in the historic West End neighborhood, Collage is a fabulous treasure trove of quirky, fun items. From pottery to furniture to jewelry, the items in Collage are interesting, eclectic, and most importantly, reasonably priced. Those who visit will find the store’s best gem, the local owner, Janice. Janice is as fun, warm, and artsy as the items in her store.

Treasures By Design

2671 Lewisville Clemmons Rd, Clemmons, NC 27012

Formerly Treasures Decor, Treasures By Design, in Clemmons, is a secondhand furniture and home decor store. It’s a great place to visit if you want quality pieces, such as curio cabinets, tables, couches, and chairs. Treasures By Design carries an assortment of styles, including outdated styles, but all are nice, heavier pieces in excellent condition. If you like shopping estate sales, you’ll love Treasures By Design!

Consignment Furniture Emporium

130 Cloverleaf Dr, Winston-Salem, NC 27103

Consignment Furniture Emporium is one of Winston-Salem’s best-kept secrets and a haven for shoppers! It has extensive sections for coffee tables, chairs, dining table sets, wall artwork, bed frames, china, chandeliers, holiday decor – you name it! Need an armoire? Consignment Furniture Emporium has a room filled with choices.

**Consignment Furniture Emporium is only open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Elizabeth’s at Hanes Park

851 Reynolda Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104

Elizabeth’s is a unique consignment store with contemporary and vintage items. The store sells various merchandise, including furniture, artwork, kitchenware, and more. The left side is open with some of the shop’s finer pieces. The right side has booths with different vendors. A friendly and beautiful dog helps run the store and greet customers, which adds to the shopping experience.

Chameleon Kids Consignment

3422 Kinnamon Village Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103

Chameleon Kids in Clemmons sells new and gently used clothing, shoes, children’s toys, equipment, baby gear, and accessories. It’s an excellent place for parents to find clothes for kids, from everyday brands like Carter’s to designer clothing brands.

Sweet Repeat Consignment Shop

3406 Kinnamon Village Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103

Right next to Chameleon Kids is Sweet Repeat Consignment Shop. It’s another hidden gem and one of my favorite women’s clothing consignment shops in the area. Here, you’ll find great clothes for a real bargain! They also carry some fun home goods items.

Your Home Marketplace

670 S Stratford Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27103

Last but not least on our list of secondhand shops in Winston-Salem is Your Home Marketplace, a vendor mall. You can’t tell from the outside, but the store is enormous! The building is 11,000 square feet and has nearly 100 vendor booths for browsing, mostly furniture and decor. You can spend hours getting your steps in and shopping here!

Hi, it’s Jeff Valentino. In 2019 my 2 sons and I packed up and moved to Winston Salem from the suburbs of Chicago. We didn’t know one person here. I wished there was a resource for people like me who are considering a similar move, so I decided to make one!
