Winston-Salem’s Best Cocktails

Winston-Salem has a unique and eclectic vibe, and the cocktail bars of this city follow suit. No
two bars are the same and they each bring something genuine and new to the Camel City. Here’s a list
of local cocktail bars with superior vibes and mixology for your next night out!

Broad Branch Distillery

Voted Distillery of the Year by the North Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association, these cocktails start
with a superior spirit. Broad Branch brings us the Camel City’s first legally distilled Bourbon Whisky since
prohibition times with their Big Winston. Their grains and sugar are mashed and fermented in house,
and they don’t skimp on the quality ingredients. Take a distillery tour and sample these exquisite spirits
in their craft cocktails!

Eastern Standard

If you’re looking for an ambient, intimate cocktail lounge, look no further than Eastern Standard.
Outside you’ll find fire pit tables that invite you to sip your cocktails and stay a while you look out over
Burke Street. Inside, a stylish interior that screams class and elegance. They master classic cocktails like
the Old Fashion, the Cosmopolitan and the Manhattan, but they also have their own signature mixes
drinks. Try the restaurant week winner for best cocktail in Winston-Salem, The Silver Fox – Vodka or gin
with muddled blueberries, lemon juice and elderflower tonic.

Single Brothers

There’s just something about Single Brothers. Its unassuming front would not lead you to believe they
have a fancy craft cocktail menu, but they have just about everything here all while maintaining a casual
vibe. There is something for everyone here, whether it’s an expertly crafted cocktail or a draft beer. A
Trade Street favorite with a roomy patio, the vibe just works. Single Brothers successfully fosters a
welcoming, nostalgic, and unique setting. Don’t miss Monday night karaoke!

Joyner’s Bar

Eclectic. Vintage. Unique. Joyner’s began as a grocery store in the dating back to 1891, so it’s no surprise they have an old-style feel with new age mixology. The setting maintains plenty of natural lighting, a warm interior with lots of leather chairs, bookshelves, funky art, and lived-in walls and flooring. Joyner’s is a Fourth Street classic, and perfect top drop in for a cocktail any time of day. The cocktails are sophisticated and confident in presentation, and the flavors are expertly paired. Joyner’s is your go to
for a cozy, welcoming, classy cocktail experience.

Vintage Sofa Bar

What’s more inviting than a beverage lounge full of sofas? This open-air concept is chic and moody, yet
sophisticated and cozy. Their rotating menu of cocktails feature house made syrups, top quality
ingredients, and striking presentation. It is apparent that attention to detail goes into every drink. More
than just a cocktail lounge, you’ll find a chef-curated menu of small plates for accompaniments.

Bar Nola

Bringing Cajun to the Camel City! Bar Nola is a New Orleans themed bar and venue located in Downtown
Winston-Salem. This space is welcoming, bright and fun. They offer daily specials, as well as signature
New Orleans cocktails like the Hurricane and the Voodoo Daquiri. Try the signature Swamp Water –
don’t forget to toss your gator garnish into the net once you’re finished! Watch for events like music
Bingo and live music.

Theodore’s

Classy, vintage, and elegant, Theodore’s fits right in as the new kid on the block in historic Reynolda
Village. The flower-laden walkway up from Dough Joe’s donuts (Theodore’s sister business) leads you
straight to a chic bar and market. The cocktail menu is seasonal and oh so creative! One cocktail on each
rotating menu is served with a Dough Joe’s treat! Theodore’s offers light sandwiches as well as snacks
from the Market.

Jeff Valentino

Hi, it’s Jeff Valentino. In 2019 my 2 sons and I packed up and moved to Winston Salem from the suburbs of Chicago. We didn’t know one person here. I wished there was a resource for people like me who are considering a similar move, so I decided to make one!
